Baptism at City Lights
Taking the Next Step in Your Faith Journey
Baptism is a beautiful and important step in following Jesus! It’s a way to publicly declare your faith and celebrate the new life you have in Him. Here’s what you need to know:
What is Baptism?
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision to follow Jesus. It symbolizes:
• A Fresh Start – Leaving behind your old life and stepping into the new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
• Following Jesus’ Example – Jesus Himself was baptized! (Matthew 3:13-17).
• A Public Declaration – Sharing your faith with others and celebrating with your church family.
Why Should I Be Baptized?
Baptism is an act of obedience and faith. Here’s why it matters:
• Jesus Commanded It – He told His followers to be baptized (Matthew 28:19-20).
• It’s a Sign of Your Commitment – The early church baptized new believers right away (Acts 2:38).
• It’s an Act of Surrender – Baptism represents giving your whole life to Jesus, trusting Him fully, and letting Him lead (Galatians 2:20).
